Mac Mini and Unifi Broadband

It's been a few months been frustrated with using Mac Mini accessing to Unifi Broadband. By right, Mac Mini should response fast using the internet, but alas, it's super slow like a turtle whenever browsing the internet.

Below is the disappointment result from the browser occasionally
(Had tried using Google Chrome and Safari)

Below is the never ending looping to search for something

Finally found a real solution and the hiccup is due to the DNS.
1) There are 2 free DNS which we can use:
a) OpenDNS
http://www.opendns.com/opendns-ip-addresses

b) Google DNS
https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/

2) Next thing to do is to change the DNS Settings. Click "System Preference"

3) Click Network icon

4) Click Advanced button
Note: Make sure the lock button is unlock first as to allow changes.

4) Click "DNS" tab and below are the default.
192.168.0.1 means the Mac Mini is accessing to Unifi default DNS Servers

5) As for my case, I use OpenDNS. After enter the DNS IP address, then click "OK" button.

6) And finally click "Apply" button.

7) And suddenly this feels like a real surfing... Yahoo...
Browsing becomes a lot faster

AppStore also load much faster

Hope this helps...Cheers
